Tifway 419 is a dense, fine-textured, hybrid Bermuda grass. This warm-season turfgrass requires full sun, and has a good heat tolerance, wear resistance and will recover quickly if damaged. This sod is an excellent choice for home lawns in the northern part of the transition zone between cool and warm season grass. It is ideal for use on golf courses, sport fields, and commercial sites.

If Tifway 419 a good sod option for my home lawn?

This is a great grass if you're willing to mow that twice a week and if you don't have much shade. If you don't like the coarseness of some of the St. Augustines, Tifway 419 may be a good alternative for your lawn.

How much sun will my Tifway 419 need?

Bermuda requires full sun for most of the day in order to grow properly and should not be used in a shady site. Bermuda is a great choice for yards with full sunlight and heavy traffic.

When will my lawn be ready to mow?

Mow within 10 days of installation and bag clippings for the first few mowings. New installations are often uneven and care should be taken not to “scalp” any high spots.

How do I maintain my Tifway 419 sod?

The watering needs of this type of sod need to be adjusted according to the weather and the lifecycle of your lawn. During summers, your Tifway sod needs about 1 inch of water per week once fully established. A newly laid sod will require more water in some cases multiple times a day if it is too hot.
